I just arrived in Prague. The train ride was long (5.5 hrs) and revealed a very unpleasant Czech countryside. When I got to the station, there were only about 5 people around and no signs, at all. So I found my way to the metro by just going down and attempted to get a ticket at the little machine, but it just ate my money. Then I asked this woman and she said to buy it from her, but that you can only buy it for a day at a time. So I got on to the sketchy metro in the sketchy station surrounded by very serious-looking people. When I got off at my stop, the directions said that the hostel was "Just straight ahead!" It wasn't, but I found it and I'm here now. I hope this city gets less sketchy...
Just got back..went out to the city. It was getting dark and very cold, so I made it quick. I got a LOT of nice shots although I have no idea what the buildings were! I do know I got the Charles Bridge. I got pizza for dinner at this little place. The guy who made it (fresh right there) was so nice and tried really hard to speak English and ask me about America. Tomorrow: free English walking tour. Oh, how I love those.
